Member Posts: 9148 22-May-2009 20:09	Tags : None After the latest bout of posts from shyster et al on how wonderful Birkenau was, I think it's time to propose that we set up a formal 'Stundie awards' equivalent for HDers. For the original Stundies, over at JREF, see the samples in this month's nominations http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=141620 The rules are fairly straightforward - see the JREF thread - so the only outstanding questions are, (1) what to call it; (2) whether, since there are fewer deniers, to hold the actual awards bimonthly or monthly, (3) whether it should be a Memory Hole or SE feature. For a starter nomination, I'd like to propose shyster's recent remark "Zyklon B was used intensively in [Auschwitz-Birkenau] in order to stop Jews dying. Zyklon was the Jews' best friend." though shyster is increasingly becoming a Stundie gold-mine, so there are certainly better examples, and surely some tough competition from the Cesspit denizens.

For the purposes of assessing stupid, we would have to apply a conventional, mainstream understanding of the Holocaust. "Zyklon B was the Jew's best friend" qualifies as a Stundie from a mainstream perspective but may seem entirely logical to a denier. Anyway, this thread to thrash out the ground rules then we need to pick someone other than me to run the nominations thread. By running I mean starting it, posting the agreed rules (most of which would be borrowed from JREF), and then if there are countless nominations, picking the candidates for the voting poll at the end of each month or bimonth. So not much work.

Fish, I lost the ability to suffer fools gladly a couple years ago. You may not understand but if you look at my early posts you will find I was one of the more non-emotive types fro a reason. Since returning I've decided NOT to hide my feelings where they can be properly displayed such as the Siberian Exile or Memory Hole. Mental health reasons are paramount now for I'd rather take out your stupidity on you than myself. I'm living such a better life, but you should know that there were better deniers consistently on alt.revisionism than have ever been here. When I see a Giwer moment I know it, but I think the person for this has to be, well Steve would have been perfect, someone who has a pretty good sense of humor. That wouldn't be me for I've seen and read far too much. You don't need to be doing this, but I could try and take the nominations. I think the deniers, to be fair, need an award of their own. That is quite a serious point Mike as it refers back to how people deal with the attitude problems of deniers. You have always struck me as a person who does not suffer fools gladly. Fish himself is not above being over emotional anyway. Neither is the shyster so before they indulge in a round of "look at us aren't we masters of our heart chakras..." Anyway Fish-like random outbursts upon hanging and the "system" would be more than sufficient to my mind to suggest that he does not have that much control over himself.
