We know that the Germans went to extreme lengths to prevent it killing Jews.
Because such deaths occurred in spite of the Germans, who bit off more than they could chew and couldn't create Western-style civilization in the primitive East, especially in wartime. Typhus deaths were high in WWI in the East, in Poland and Russia and the Balkans between the wars, in the East during WWII, in German concentration camps in the West at the end of the war from overcrowding with prisoners evacuated from the East, and in Germany for a period after the war. This was in spite of the Germans having a theoretical understanding of the problem and the disease being typical in wartime and anytime civilization breaks down.
It is true that people like Anne Frank, a Dutch Jew, never would have died had she not been exposed to Ostjuden in overcrowded German concentration camps. But she was a enemy alien, a hostile ethnicity, and therefore here family was interned for similar reasons to why the Americans locked up ethnic Japanese (some of whom were U.S. Citizens) who lived on the West Coast (where President Roosevelt and General Marshall said that the Empire of Japan would invade). In other words, the Nazis locked Anne Frank away not to give her typhus but as a wartime measure of reprisal and wartime security in the face of Allied invasion. I never said that this was Just, just that there is a logic to it that goes beyond Genocide propaganda and Holofantasy.
