Another example, in the last paragraph it says "einzigste", however this form of "einzig" does not exist. But it's a common mistake. Although linguistically incorrect, "einzigste" is frequently used by native German speakers. Even Goethe wrote about his "einzigste" girl!
I used the word einzigst myself as a young student. And the German teacher returned it with a big red sechs! (Not sex, Roberto!). Sechs or 6 stands in German school gradings for the equivalent of F in the US.
If in an official German letter einzigst is the only incorrect word, I would forget it and not attempt to build a case on it.
If ther are a dozen or more similar errors I would suspect that the letter was originated by a non-native speaker.
About the personal letter by General Turner:
To write I had all Jewish I could get hold of in this country shot amounts to an admission to a criminal murder offense, which would have been punished with a noose around the neck if this ever became known.
Was this ever confirmed by the soldiers who were involved in the actual shooting?
Maybe the Jews he was writing about were those who according to Heydrichs instructions to the Hhere SS and Polizeifhrer of July 2, 1941, were Jews in the Service of the Party and the State and had to be executed.
